The Hotel Molino Del Santo is a lovingly restored olive and flour mill, now converted into a delightful small hotel packed with charm. The hotel is tucked alongside the lively mountain stream that powered the original mill, and the owner-managers have spent the last 24 years listening to, and providing for, their guests' needs.
The rooms are all different, some of them ranged along a pathway like a tiny village street, with private sunny terraces, and each with central heating, air-conditioning, safe, phone with a suitable socket for connecting a lap-top, mini-bar, tea and coffee-making facilities and full en-suite bathrooms with hairdryers. The owners are pleased to say there is no television anywhere in the hotel!
Snacks and drinks are available all day every day from the bar and cafeteria. For quieter moments, there is a comfortable lounge with sofas and tables. In here there are still the old millstones and a furze oven dating from the hotel's former days as a mill and bakery.
The food at Molino Del Santo has been much praised and the restaurant, offering a full range of Spanish food using local and organic produce whenever possible, is patronised by locals as well as residents. A special feature here is the lovely riverside terrace where you can dine with the gentle sound of running water as your background music.
The garden is the verdant oasis that you would expect alongside a stream, with lots of sunny and shady spots for relaxing, and a 15m x 8m swimming pool, solar-heated for a longer swimming season.
Meals
The restaurant has an indoor dining room as well as the outdoor terrace that borders the stream. It is popular with residents and non-residents alike and provides full a la carte dining as well as snacks and a children's menu. The menu varies according to availability in the local market and the season, but always offers a choice of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. The chefs are happy to cater as far as possible for special diets. Afternoon tea and delicious home-made cakes are available on the terrace each day.
Breakfast is buffet style with locally baked brown and white bread, cakes, jams and marmalades, juices, fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurts and tea, coffee or hot chocolate, plus a cooked dish.
