The luxury 4 star hotel La Posada del Marques lies in a fold of the Tramuntana mountains where it offers spectacular views of the Mallorca valley. Created from a 16th century Mallorquin mansion, the hotel is a magnificent fusion of rustic, baroque and modern that cannot fail to please.
Es Verger is a nature reserve dedicated to the Mediterranean landscape, with holm oaks, olive trees and especially pine woods that that flow from hill to hill, filling the air with their glorious scent. Perched majestically on the hillside, the views from La Posada del Marques roll all the way down to the Valley of Palma, forming the most wonderful backdrop for the pool terrace. The pool and the terrace and gardens that surround it are of course the focal point of outdoor living during the summer, and a further terrace also provides an outdoor restaurant.
The 17 bedrooms and suites were recently renovated, providing ample accommodation and modern comforts alongside their distinctive style. Intricate painted patterns combine with massive stone walls, luxurious fabrics and ornate decorative pieces. Here again, most rooms enjoy the spectacular views of the valley and the mountains.
There is a large comfortable salon with a second large room alongside, both reflecting the same decorative style that runs through the whole hotel. The mirador is a room carefully arranged to make the very best of the glorious view, and finally there is one unique feature: a private chapel with an impressive gilded altar, ideal for weddings.
Double Room
A generous 20 - 30 m2 with beautiful details and with views to the Sierra de Tramuntana, the inner courtyard or to the gardens.
Superior Double Room
Each of the Superior rooms offers something special. They are elegant and cosy, and they all have spectacular views of the Sierra Tramuntana or the gardens or terraces of the hotel. The bathrooms have a big shower and underfloor heating. All rooms have air conditioning, safe and minibar.
Suite
Enjoy the luxury of a separate sitting room and a balcony featuring panoramic views stretching all the way to Palma Bay. The bathroom with double bathtub provides a romantic touch. Architectural elements such as wooden beams and stone walls add a unique charm.
Superior Suite
On the top floor to get the best views and the quietest position, or on the other side of the house to get the best of the afternoon sun and maximum privacy. 40m2 of space, king-size beds, private terraces and lovely bathrooms complete the package.
Triple Room
The triple rooms are the most spacious rooms of all, with a nice sitting area with fireplace, private terrace with sun loungers and stunning views of the Tramuntana mountain range or the Bay of Palma.
Meals
The Sa Tafona restaurant is located in an old olive mill. During the years when the hotel was home to the family of the Marqués del Verger, olive oil was produced here from the olives grown in the local area. The old mill machinery (the “tafona” which gives the restaurant its name) is still here, a fascinating conversation piece within the restaurant.
The cuisine is a broad Mediterranean and European style which takes full advantage of the herbs and spices which grow in the garden, for example lamb with rosemary or salmon marinated in wild fennel.
Diners may choose from a la carte or one of the carefully selected set menus. Snacks are also available.

| I have just spent peaceful a week at this beautiful hotel. Views to die for and an historic atmosphere. Helpful, friendly staff and fantastic food - HOWEVER, it is so remote, you will find about three days stay will be enough unless you hire a car, as there are no tours available and no local taxi's, only from Palma at a cost. The nearest small town is a very long walk down a steep narrow road, worse coming back. |
