You will find the warmest of welcomes here in this unforgettable location, where the massive stone walls reflect the Celtic history of Galicia. This charming hotel used to be the village rectory, built in 1729 on a hill which captures every ray of the sun and delivers breathtaking views over the Vigo Ría and the Strait of Rande.
The art and architecture of this robust building is further enhanced by its spectacular granary which today houses not grain but exhibitions and parties. Should you ever tire of the art and history, you will find many activities nearby, from scuba diving in search of the lost Rande galleons to visiting the stone-age rock carvings at Campo Lameiro or playing a round on the extraordinary Ría de Vigo golf course.
The hotel is conveniently located within easy range of the motorway and Vigo airport, but far enough away from them that they do nothing to intrude on the splendour and peace of Rectoral de Cobres. The newly-added glass terrace opens up in summer, so you enjoy the fabulous views at any time of year. Any one of the eight unique guestrooms will give you a stay to be remembered, while the lounges, the bar, the library or the pool give you space to practice the art of making friends. | The hotel was easy to reach from the motorway. The welcome was warm, wise and attentive. The rooms were full of character and comfort. The local fish restaurant was excellent. The beaches were beautiful, clean and uncrowded. The local town of Pontevedre was a good evening visit and the ferries from Vigo to the local islands presented a great day out, the locals go out there to camp and sunbathe. We only had two days, but would happily have stayed on. |

We Say
We were completely bowled over by the incredible scenery of the Spanish rias, and Rectoral de Cobres just seems like the best way to appreciate it. Waking up to "that view" from your window is just amazing.
