In the heart of Mallorca's northern mountain range is Sa Pedrissa, a 17th century rural estate set between the sea and the mountains. The property sits close by the romantic village of Deya (also spelt Deia), a well-known magnet for poets and painters. In the late 19th century it belonged to the aristocrat Archduke Louis Salvador of Austria, then was run as a farm for many years. In 1997 Sa Pedrissa was declared a place of historical and cultural interest. It has now been reconverted into a romantic child-free rural hotel with eleven deluxe rooms.
From the terraces of the house, visitors can enjoy unparalleled views over the Mediterranean sea and the verdant mountains. In the countryside around Sa Pedrissa ancient olive trees rise up from the hillside terraces. Guests can relax and stroll around the grounds that blend so carefully into the surrounding landscape, whilst enjoying the scent of jasmine and the gentle lullaby of the waves.
Sa Pedrissa is a traditional Mallorcan property which has not only retained its original character but also conserves all the architectural features and furnishings area. Just a few metres from the house is the 12m x 6m swimming pool, merging with the blue horizon of the Mediterranean, where guests can relax and sunbathe.
With a total of eleven bedrooms, mostly suites, care and attention have been given to even the smallest detail, guaranteeing complete rest and relaxation in an island location second-to-none. At the top of the tree are the Grand Suites with their private pools, but all of the rooms and suites have luxury, facilities and space in abundance.
From this beautiful location on the unspoilt north-western coastline of Mallorca, the hotel can provide or arrange all manner of activities such as yacht charter, boat hire, sailing lessons, beauty treatments, massages, numerous walking itineraries, etc.
Meals
The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, when guests can sample a variety of dishes characteristic of mediterranean cuisine, and fine wines. The specialities of the house include suckling pig cooked in a wood-burning oven, vegetable, meat and seafood paellas, almond cake topped with almond ice-cream, and mallorcan vegetable "cocas". Special menus are available for vegetarians and diabetics. The restaurant is closed on Sundays and in low season.
Breakfast is a full "a la carte" with cold meats, hot dishes, egg dishes, pastry, jams and marmalades, more than 20 differents sorts of tea, fresh fruit juices and even a glass of champagne.

Reviews
Reviews from Little Hotels Travellers:
For our purpose the hotel was beautifully situated, the pool exceptionally attractive as was the garden around it. The service was outstandingly good - totally willing helpful and genuinely friendly (without any of the slick superficial professionalism which sometimes accompanies reportedly "good service").
The food was good with only one complaint - the portions were over generous and the kitchen apparently deaf to suggestions, which meant that we had to leave some of many meals uneaten. Not a comfortable thing to do - for many reasons. Our room was good with an attractive modern bathroom; the sitting room was comfortable though the furniture did not give the same happy impression as the rest of the suite. The description of the "terrace and stunning view"in reality rather oversells the actuality, giving the impression of a sizeable balcony/terrace and a fullish view of the bay. But all in all we would warmly recommend Sa Pedrissa. We were impressed by the ease the scope and above all the speed of your reaction to our enquiry as well as your helpful suggestions re car hire etc. We didn`t hire a car but should have done because of the shortage of taxis in Deia and Valldemossa; here the Hotel was excellent - taking and fetching us when taxis were not available locally. |
Good location and so easy to get to from the airport but lack of signage at the hotel makes you likely to drive past and then turn around in Deya!
Great views, very peaceful and relaxing. Lovely pool and loungers and pool drinks.
Staff wonderful especially the morning waitress and evening waiter.
Food on the whole good but nothing very special. Menu was very repetitive and became boring and difficult to know what to choose after 3 days. Good wine cellar.
Little choice of good restaurants in Deya and disappointingly so ~ hence got bored with hotel food! They could use a lot more fresh produce and it's a real shame that a few of the meals were evidently frozen and then microwaved especially when they were not busy in the evening (most nights that we were there).
Room 1 was very nice and extremely roomy and airy. Bed was very very hard but king size. Bathroom excellent. Aircon very efficient.
Maid service very good and room cleaned and left smelling nice.
A great break. A good little hotel but not excellent. A 4 out of 5 would be about right.
Hope this helps you? |
Wonderful hotel in idyllic situation. The staff were attentive and we appreciated all the little touches. The food was out of this world. We shall definitely return. |
We enjoyed our holiday in Sa Pedrissa, it was a lovely hotel, beautifully run, in a lovely position. The staff were super and the food was excellent. Perhaps you can pass on our thanks to the hotel and the girls that served us in the dining room as we did not see them to say goodbye and our thanks to them. |

A Word from the Owner
Come and enjoy our typical Mallorcan house, with its unique atmosphere. For your breakfast, enjoy our homemade bread, with honey, eggs, marmalades, etc. Several times during the week we prepare an open-air barbecue when you can enjoy both barbecued meat and vegetables, as well as our local wines and sangría.
