The beauty of Son Siurana lies in its unforced rustic elegance, a large house and patchwork of smaller buildings spread across the gentle slope of the hillside. A recent renovation has turned the old farm into a hotel that will delight the senses of anyone with a taste for rustic chic.

The decorative style is true Mallorcan, with antique bed-heads, fabrics with Mallorcan motifs, hand-painted ceramics, lime-washed walls, domed ceilings, wooden beams and mullioned windows. All the furniture is antique and has been restored to give the warmth and charm of an earlier more relaxed age

Within the grounds of Son Siurana there are many terraces, paths and gardens, and of course a swimming-pool that invites you to do nothing else with your day. There is plenty of walking in the area though, even within Son Siurana's farm, where you are never far from the views of Alcudia Bay.

The main house has large and pleasant lounges including a book library and a DVD library. Guests can also take their indoors outside in the pleasant little patio at the back of the house.

Most of the accommodation takes the forms of small "casas" (houses) which are totally self-contained and permit self-catering. However breakfast and other meals are available so your holiday will never become a chore. All of the casas, the junior suite and the apartment are spacious and comfortable with lovely antique furniture that is charming and never oppressive.

The position of Hotel Son Siurana just inland from Alcudia could not be better. It is close enough to the town, the beaches and the main road to be convenient, but far enough away so none of them can intrude on the solace of the location.

Each casa features a living room, a bedroom, a bathroom, a kitchen and a private terrace.

All have free wifi connection,  a fully equipped kitchen, a plasma tv with satelite, safety deposit box, dvd, air conditioning and central heating.

The casita for four people is a very nice Mallorcan house attached to the main building and built on three levels.
On the ground level there is a living room, a kitchen and a terrace. On the first floor a bedroom with a bathroom and on the upper floor a second bedroom.
It is decorated in Mallorcan style and has air conditioning, central heating, minibar, safe, Satellite tv, dvd, wifi and hair dryer.

The two bedroom apartment has a living room, two bedrooms, two bathrooms,a kitchen and a very nice terrace with views to the mountains.

Out and About

Bay of Alcudia

Walking: Within Son Siurana or further afield
Golf: Alcanada and Pollensa golf clubs are within 10 minutes driving time
Beaches: Miles of beaches near at hand.
Calas: Rocky coves abound along the north coast of Mallorca. Some are easily accessible by car, while others can only be reached after a long scramble down the hillside.
Caving: Cueva de Menorca in Alcudia itself, and dozens more in the Sierra Tramuntana mountains.
Cycling: Mallorca is popular cycling territory, especially in spring and autumn.

Places to visit:
Pollentia: The remains of a hugely imortant Roman city on the outskirts of Alcudia.
Nature Reserves of Son S'Albufereta and S'Albufera.Especially iportant for bird watching.
Fundación Yannick & Ben Jakober in Alcudia. One of most important art collections in Mallorca.
Pollensa and Puerto Pollensa.
Formentor: The rocky promontory at the northern tip of Mallorca. Spectacular cliffs.
La Victoria hermitage.
Sierra Tramuntana mountains.
Caves of Drach showcaves.
Palma. A beautiful and cosmopolitan city. Don't miss the cathedral and the old quarter. There are important museums too, like the Fundación Miró and the Museo de Es Baluard.
