Hotel Son Julia is a beautiful 15th century manor house that has been turned into a fabulous boutique hotel with all the comforts and luxury that you could need. Son Julia's 32 rooms & suites are beautifully furnished in differing styles, featuring local hand-made glassware and artwork.
The house is surrounded by a large garden, vineyard and fruit orchards in a peaceful country setting with expansive views of the Mallorcan countryside. There are two outdoor swimming pools to choose from, and if that's not enough, another indoors in the spa. Space is never a problem here with lots of garden areas and terraces to relax.
Indoors too, there is room to spare in the bar and lounge, and the spa is really special. So too is the restaurant, which also extends to a poolside bar and poolside bistro in summer.
The guest rooms and suites are not just beautiful and superbly equipped. They are also amazingly spacious ranging from the 35 square metres of the Superior rooms right up to the Grand Suite which is bigger than many houses.
The country location of Hotel Son Julia is well-connected, with easy access to Palma and the airport, the sweeping sandy beaches of the south coast and the pretty little calas on the east side of the island. The hotel also gives access to all sorts of activities ranging from simple pleasures like cycling and horse-riding right up to yacht charter and balloon flights.
Superior Garden
Superior Garden rooms (35 m2) are located on the ground floor and all have large terraces and private gardens. Featuring king-size or twin beds, with plasma TV´s, internet, mini bar, two telephone lines and a full marble bathroom. Connecting rooms for families are available.
Junior Suite
Two Suites (85 m2) located in the main house with French balconies overlooking the gardens. Offering a sitting area, plasma TV, internet, mini bar, two telephone lines, marble bathroom with jacuzzi bath.
One Suite (115 m2) open-plan living with a sitting area and dining area, located in the main house offering a sitting area, plasma TV, internet, mini bar, two telephone lines, marble bathroom with jacuzzi bath.
Grand Suite
The Grand Suite (150 m2) is located in the main house with beautiful views of the orchards from the private terrace. Offering separate sleeping and sitting areas, marble bathroom with walk-in shower, jacuzzi bath, plasma TV´s, internet, mini bar and two telephone lines.
Meals
Las Bovedas Restaurant, featured in the Michelin Guide, offers "fresh from the market" Mediterranean cuisine with an Asian touch. In the evening a set menu of 3 or 4 dishes is offered, and also à la carte. Try the extensive wine list featuring Son Julia´s own white wine "Chapren".
The Mandarin Bistro sits on the gorgeous elevated terrace near one of the swimming pools. It offers a casual area to enjoy lunch either under to ornate pergola or shaded by one of the parasols.
A buffet breakfast is served with a wide variety of local and home-made products.
Out and About
The Llucmajor area is perfect for cycling. Rent a racing or mountain bike from the hotel and explore the countryside.
There are archaeological sites of prehistoric dwellings.
Horseriding at a local stable can be booked.
Hiking in the Tramuntana mountains is a stunning experience with beautiful sea views.
Golfers can benefit from discounted green fees. There are two 18 hole golf courses just 10 minutes from the hotel.
Es Trenc beach with its virgin sands is only 15 minutes away.
The city of Palma is 20 minutes from the hotel and offers a wide selection of restaurants, shops, museums, theatres, the cathedral & royal palace, and Bellver castle to name a few.
