Helping Our Community
A couple of recent incidents alerted us to the importance of acessing an AED (that's an automatic external defibrillator) very quickly if someone has suffered a cardiac arrest. Looking around, we realised that there was no definitive and accurate list of the defibrillators in our locality. So we decided to create our own.
We were fortunate to be able to work with Portishead Coastguard Team who sent team members out to find, check and photograph every defibrillator in and around Portishead. Then it was our job to create the webpage and to host it on our server.
The result is here: https://www.littlehotels.co.uk/portishead-aeds.php.
It's only helping one small town, but it's our town, and it's a town with a wonderful community spirit so we wanted to do our bit.
IMPORTANT NOTE! Although the URL above still works, the new and expanded version of the app is found at https://defib-map.co.uk. In order to expand further we are looking for local admins who can document and upload the defibrillators in their area. If you think that could be you, please send an email to office@littlehotels.co.uk.
