2 bedroom cottage
Eco Finca Natura is a holiday cottage that gives its guests a deep connection with nature. It sits on the floor of the Valley of Temisa – an area of protected beauty – just outside the village of Tabayesco. The former Canarian farmhouse is set in an acre of garden, surrounded by farmland and just a few minutes from the lovely La Garita beach at Arrieta. The eco-credentials are assured with the whole property running off solar power.
The square rubble-stone walls of Finca Natura give way inside to crisp, clean modern lines, clearly showing the care that has been bestowed on the house. The sitting room boasts great views of the valley, yet the big window is shaded from the glare of the sun by a wooden pergola outside. There is good wifi internet and books galore for those moments when you need to sit down and do not-much. The kitchen-diner is similarly modern yet still with some older elements to remind you that this house has stood here for years. It too has a great view.
The main bedroom has a king-size bed, a view of the sea and a large en-suite bathroom with both a bath tub and a walk-in shower. The second bedroom has a double bed and there is a second small bathroom with a walk-in shower.
The garden is a very special feature at Eco Finca Natura. It is planted with dozens of palms and all sorts of plants to ensure interest and colour throughout the year. In this glorious climate, outdoor living is a must so the terrace outside the kitchen has a table and chairs and a barbecue. The other terrace has a big stone-built sofa upholstered with big comfy cushions to comfortably relax in the sun, or shade. Right in the middle of the garden is the small pool (5.3m x 3.5m) with a large sun deck, loungers and great views down to the sea. Finally the wooden chill-out platform takes relaxation to a new level. All-in-all the garden makes a fascinating place that will take a whole holiday to explore.
Beaches. La Garita is just a few minutes away. Choose from the town beach with all the amenities or stroll down to the other end to get closer to nature. The white sand beaches known as Caletones Blanco are also within a 10 to 15 minutes drive. These bays and coves are particularly unspoilt.
Places to visit:
Jameos del Agua: Arguably Cesar Manrique´s greatest creation, the Jameos del Agua is probably best described as a beautiful garden located in and around an underground grotto.
The Green Caves: Part of the same lava tunnel which provides the backdrop for the Jameos del Agua, the Green Caves are a volcanic cave system which were once used as a hideout from marauding pirates.
The Cactus Garden: Manrique´s celebration of the plant world’s spiniest species is a must see for garden lovers.
Mirador del Rio: This amazing lookout point provides breathtaking views of the neighbouring island of La Graciosa and is another Manrique masterpiece.
César Manrique Foundation: The former home and studio of César Manrique is built into five underground volcanic chambers and is an impressive feat of architecture and engineering.
LagOmar: Once owned by the famous film star Omar Sharif and now home to a restaurant and house museum.
Haria/Valley of 1000 Palms: The village of Haria sits on the floor of a palm-filled valley which is by far the greenest spot on Lanzarote.
Teguise: Lanzarote´s capital until 1852 and a real treasure trove of colonial buildings and interesting architecture.
"What a way to spend a special birthday! Utter peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings. Very well equipped and spotlessly clean, a real home from home but with the most spectacular scenery and complete privacy. I now have serious garden envy! Waking up with a cup of tea sitting on the patio watching the sun rise was amazing. Very well located to explore the beautiful north of Lanzarote; the boat trip to La Graciosa, the gorgeous cactus garden in Guatiza and the coastal walk in the Timanfaya National park, with lava fields on our left and the wild Atlantic on our right were highlights. Perfect!"
"We were looking for a quiet, isolated and warm spot. So we booked Finca Natura for the beginning of July. We weren't disappointed.
The house and garden are just as they look in the photos. The house is spacious and the garden is huge, and you can feel the love the owners have put into it, nourishing and cherishing it. In the climate of Lanzarote, warm and dry, to be able to grow plants well requires green fingers.
Gaby is friendly and warm-hearted, was easy to reach and took good care of everything we needed. The Finca lies in the valley, there are no direct neighbours, and there is a beautiful view of the village (Tabayesco) and the sea. We went to the Arrieta beach early in the morning, around this time it's all yours.
There are only a few tourists in the north of Lanzarote, the villages in the surrounding area are unspoilt and you're not aware of the tourist resorts of the south.
Silence, tranquility and warmth, a place to regain your strength.
"This was our second holiday at the Finca and we were not disappointed and hope to go back again in the near future its a little bit of paradise."

The garden at Finca Natura is a real gem. Very hard to tire of.
We bought the finca in 2006 and lived there for seven years, slowly renovating the house and developing the garden. We hope guests will enjoy the tranquility of the location and the tropical planting in the garden.
